Say you're watching a livestream on YouTube and you have something really insightful or witty to say. Or, maybe you just want to express your dearest for the person's broadcasts in a big mode. YouTube started testing Super Chat in Beta today with a few creators, including iHasCupquake, Smashing Library (buzzbean11), and Alex Wassabi. The site plans to launch Super Conversation on Jan 31 2022 for creators in 20 countries and viewers in more than than 40 countries.
If you're familiar with Twitch Cheering, this is kind of similar. Like Super Chat, Twitch Cheering lets yous financially back up your favorite streamers within Chat.
Meanwhile, as it launches Super Chat, YouTube is doing away with another characteristic: Fan Funding, which launched in 2022, letting viewers volunteer their money to back up creators straight.
"While we were really excited about Fan Funding, it never achieved widespread usage outside of alive streams, where nosotros saw the majority of acquirement," Macdonald wrote. As of today, YouTube has stopped accepting new sign-ups for the feature, though information technology will continue to piece of work on channels where it's enabled until February 28 2022. At that point, it will be discontinued.
